    1. 45 A Rockhampton Art Gallery exhibition - In 2012 Rockhampton Art Gallery turns 45! This exhibition celebrates the significant yet diverse permanent collection through works that relate to the number 45 and important acquisitions from the past 45 years.
    2. A Sense of Occasion - Cocktails and Couture Cocktails and Couture will feature a fashion parade from Darnell Collection and a guided tour with Charlotte Smith, Curator, Darnell Collection with food from Delizie.
    3. A Sense of Occasion: 50 Years of Party Dresses The Rockhampton Art Gallery plays host to a touring exhibition drawn from the Darnell Collection, New South Wales. “A sense of occasion: Fifty years of party dresses” is an exhibition of ball gowns and cocktail dresses from the 1920s to the 1960s.
    4. A Sense of Occassion - Cupcakes and Couture Enjoy a guided tour of the exhibition with the Gallery Director this Mothers Day. Afternoon Tea by Lickety Fingers.
    5. A Sense of Occassion - Free Lecture A free lecture "The Convergence of Art and Fashion in the 21st Century" with curator and arts writer Alison Kubler.
    6. A Sense of Occassion - Vintage and Contemporary Fashion at Stockland Fashion event from the Darnell Collection and Stockland retailers. Includes book signing with Charlotte Smith.
    7. Archer Park Rail Museum Family Fun Day Several times each year Archer Park hosts a number of community organisations and special activities with a 'gold coin' admission. These Family Fun Days (previously known as Carriage Shade Capers) are normally the last Sunday of alternate months beginning with April.
    8. Beef Australia Every three years beef producers, breeders and industry stakeholders come together in Rockhampton Queensland to participate in one of the world's great beef cattle events 'Beef Australia'. Australia's National Beef Exposition features national stud, carcasses and commercial cattle competitions as well as on farm property tour. There will be over 40 industry seminar topics and hundreds of domestic and international trade exhibitors. See the website for more details.
    9. Collection in Focus A Rockhampton Art Gallery initiative, the Collection In Focus series explores the unique and diverse art collections of the Central Queensland region. The CQUniversity Art Collection currently holds more than 500 artworks, including significant 1970s works by Australian artists, historical works and contemporary pieces from international, national and local artists. This exhibition brings together a selection of the finest works from the CQUniversity.
    10. Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Visual Art and Design A Rockhampton Art Gallery exhibition. The Creative Generation Excellence Awards in Visual Art and Design recognise and promote excellence in senior visual arts education throughout Queensland state and non-state schools.

    12. Kagi Gift A Rockhampton Art Gallery Exhibition. In 2008, the Melbourne scientist and art collector Dr Kagi donated 157 modern British prints, a gift which enabled Rockhampton Art Gallery to present regular thematic print exhibitions and further develop its international collection in years to come.
    13. League of Legends: 100 Years of Rugby League in Australia League of Legends: 100 Years of Rugby League in Australia celebrates the history of this great game.
    14. Lloyd Rees Brisbane-born painter and draftsman Lloyd Rees (1895-1988) is one of Australia's most recognised and awarded landscape artists. He twice received the Wynne Prize (in 1950 and 1982) for his work, which often focused on the effects of light in its varying forms.
    15. Mrs Prime Minister: Public Image, Private Lives A Museum of Australian Democracy travelling exhibition, Mrs Prime Minister: Public Image, Private Lives, will be on show. Old Parliament House’s travelling exhibition introduces visitors to the 25 remarkable women who have been wives to past Prime Ministers from 1901 to 2007. Come along and enjoy learning about this history.
    16. Paradise Lagoons Campdraft The Commonwealth Bank Region and Agribusiness Banking Paradise Lagoons Campdraft is Australia's richest campdraft, with AUD280,000 in prize money and trophies. The event is held at the purpose designed and constructed Paradise Val and Tom Acton MBE Memorial Complex in Rockhampton.
    17. Rockhampton Eisteddfod The Rockhampton Eisteddfod held annually includes a packed program of speech, dance, vocal, piano and instrumental sections. Official programs will be on sale from the Pilbeam Theatre Box Office close to the event date.
    18. Rockhampton Show Come along with family or friends to the Rockhampton Show held at the Rockhampton Showgrounds. The three day event will feature action-packed entertainment for the whole family from rides to face painting and shopping arcades.     11. Hairspray Rockhampton Musical Union Choir presents the multi award winning feel-good musical Hairspray. Set in the early 1960s in Baltimore, the story centres around Tracy Turnblad, a plump girl whose dream is to dance on a television music show. She makes it onto the show and becomes a celebrity overnight. The songs include 1960's-style dance music and "downtown" rhythm and blues in a fast paced family musical that is sure to please.
    12. I Bunyip Do you know what a Bunyip is? What about a Yawk Yawk or the other fascinating creatures that live in Australia? Would you like to meet them? Created by Erth Visual and Physical Inc and developed in consultation with five different Aboriginal communities, I, Bunyip portrays the mystical world of creatures from indigenous folklore. Presented by Rockhampton Regional Council.

    24. Tales of the Underground - Rockhampton Three short plays about mining by Angela Betzien, Victoria Carless and Rod Ainsworth. Tales of the Underground explores the social impacts of mining through the experiences of three playwrights-in-residence in the ex-boom towns of Mount Morgan, Mount Perry and Cracow. Given only three weeks, the playwrights uncovered the stories that shaped the history of these communities - tales of vision, sacrifice, love and madness - and examined what can be learned from these mining towns of the past.     18. Queensland Open Womens Softball Championships Softball in the Rockhampton Region continues to go from strength to strength with the announcement from Rockhampton Regional Council and Softball Queensland that the Open Women's State Championship will be held in Rockhampton next year.
    19. Queensland School Basketball State Championships - U15 Queensland Secondary School Basketball conducts two championships each year for secondary students. In 2012, the 15 years and under state championship will be held in Rockhampton. From this championship a boys and a girls state team are selected to represent Queensland at the School Sport Australia Nationals. Come along and watch the young talent.

Queensland Zone of Origin State Polocrosse Zone Titles The Queensland Zone of Origin State Zone Titles is a major state polocrosse tournament held over two days and consisting of teams from each zone throughout the state. The event includes Junior, Mixed, Mens and Women's competitions and is an all ages inclusive event. Teams will travel from around the state to compete at this major inaugural event.

    33. Rocky River Run The Rocky River Run started at Rockhampton in 2008 and has been steadily growing in numbers each year. This year's event will include a two kilometre kids' run, a five kilometre walk and wheel, a five kilometre run, a 10 kilometre run and a 21 kilometre half-marathon.
